Client:-    Mr. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx      Page 1 of 10 - click ‘Continue’ to read on or
Date of report:-  xxxxxxxxxxxxx        ‘Cancel’ to return to this page.
Date of examination:-  xxxxxxx and xxxxxxxx 2005
Location & conditions under which examination conducted:-  Vessel examined on xxxx afloat in Neyland Yacht Haven and on xxxx ashore in slings at Dale Sailing.  Day 1 – cold, sunny, dry day, following several days of rain.  Day 2 – cold and dry following light rain overnight.  Easy access to external hull and fittings other than one obstructed by lifting sling.  Interior of vessel, including storage spaces, examined as far as could be accessed without dismantling or removal of secured obstructions such as locker units.  Instrumentation and other electrical equipment tested wherever possible, as described in main text.  Engines, gearboxes, fuel systems and exhaust systems examined as described in the main text.  However, not being a qualified marine diesel engineer, I would advise a full engineering examination, to include compression testing and oil analysis for greater peace of mind.
Limitations:-  This report is provided for the sole use of the client named above subject to the standard terms and conditions contained in the contract.
A standard condition report is based upon a non-destructive examination limited to those areas agreed with the client and does not include areas concealed by linings, machinery, equipment, secured covers, paint or coatings of any kind.  In some areas, such as the lower hull, ‘spot checks’ may be made by removal of small sections of the coating (such as antifouling) to permit examination of the surface thus revealed.  It should be noted that this is a representative sampling which cannot be a guarantee of the condition of the hull as a whole.  Removal of the whole surface coating is neither practical nor part of a standard examination.
DC voltage electrical equipment may be switched on to ensure that it ‘powers up’, but is not tested through the whole of its operational capability.
AC systems may be similarly tested.  In both cases general observations may be made on condition and suitability of systems and equipment.
General observations may be made on LPG systems.  However, these should be regularly examined by a Corgi Marine engineer.

General notes on condition and recommendations:-  This report is based on notes taken of observations and tests conducted on the vessel as described.  Some notes of minimal interest may have been made which are not included in this report.  Full records are available if required as all notes are kept for at least six years in case of dispute.  Where observations result in recommendations for repair or remedial attention, a time scale for completion, or estimate of when attention shall become required, will accompany such recommendations.  Three time scales are used:-
Urgent:-  Action recommended before re-launch or use in other than sheltered waters.
Routine:-  Action recommended at next lift-out or as part of annual routine maintenance and servicing.
Improvement:-  Action recommended only in the interest of long-term vessel maintenance or improvement.
